Guild FAQ
What is the guild about? Although we are mainly about quiggles, and all that is great about quiggles(everything!!!), we are also interested in avatars, general neopets, and simply making friends. Many guild members are adults, and many are children, so you can be any age in this guild, and still be happy!
Why hasn't anyone responded to my post? Please keep in mind that we are a largely international crowd, and live in all corners of the globe, so we're rarely all on at the same time. Because of that, please refrain from posting things such as "is anyone on?", "I'm on now", or anything along those lines ;)
I am on a quest, why isn't anyone helping? In general please refrain from asking for items to timed quests, as we can not guarantee anyone will be around in sufficient time. You can use the shop wizard for all timed quests, and for untimed quests, I recommend going to the "Quests" boards. If you feel the item is too expensive, and you can't afford it, then you can reject the quest. (I reccomend this for all quests EXCEPT the fountain faerie, as she rewards you with the paint job of your choice, which could be very expensive otherwise)
I hear the guild has an avatar lending service, where is it? It is located in quiggle_trader's gallery, which includes the collateral system, telling you how much you'll have to pay to borrow depending on what your rank in the guild is. (Collateral is returned to you when you return the item safely!)
How do I get a better rank in the guild? Currently there is no official formula. Basically, stay an active, friendly member of the guild, make donations to the guild fund if possible. DO NOT ASK FOR A PROMOTION, as that is a way to guarantee you won't get one, even if we were tempted to give you one originally, because it displays a personality trait that noone's fond of: impatience. Promotions are all made by Clare, the guild leader. Sometimes a council member will reccomend someone for a promotion if they feel it's well deserved.
How can I donate? Glad you asked, you can donate by visiting gift_quiggle's shop and buying something there. You are by no means required to donate, and promotion is not directly connected to donations. All other donation shops belonging to the guild are now closed in order to adhere with the new Terms and Conditions.
What does the money collected go towards? The neopoints collected on gift_quiggle go towards funding a number of guild services including the library, hospital , the Monthly Wish, birthday and guildaversaries!
Why hasn't anyone acknowledged my donation? Two things: first, we're all human, and so we make mistakes, and can be forgetful from time to time; secondly donations at the shop of less than 1000nps don't show up in the shop log, so we can't know who's donated how much. We are ever so grateful to EVERYONE who donates, no matter how small or large a donation. Please don't take it personally! :)
I've heard there are free books. How do I get some? Every week each member is entitled to 3 books from quiggle_library's library. You cannot get another set of books until 7 days after the last one. Please neomail her to get some, or bid on one of her book trades. If you request books earlier than 7 days after you last got yours, your request will be put on hold until the 7 days are up.
What is Winner Takes All, and how do I participate? Winner Takes All is a collection of items and neopoints sent in by various members. Every two weeks, one of the participants' name is drawn and they receive the whole pot. To take part, send some items to winner_takes_all_.
What's up with this Quiggle Quandary? The Quiggle Quandary is the Brainy Quiggle's brain teaser. Each Quiggle Quandary will last from 1 week to 1 month, depending on Brainy Quiggle's state of mind, free time, and how many people respond to the puzzle early. What is the Monthly Wish? The Montly Wish is hosted by gift_quiggle. Due to a general lack of participation in the monthly wish the council havechanged the way it works. From now on council will choose a different guild member each month whom we feel has been an exemplary member of the guild by being warm, friendly, and regularly active. This person will be announced and will be asked to submit a wish (must cost under 50k.)
Why are my posts being deleted? We only delete posts in extreme cases, so this'll likely never happen to you, but if it does happen then it is most likely that your post is very offensive, spam, or a double post. We will try to contact you if your post is deleted, however occasionaly we may forget to do this, or in rare circumstances be completely unable. If your post was deleted and you don't think it was any of the aforementioned feel free to ask a council member.
What's all this about frozen trout? Frozen trout is a trout that is frozen. :P Okay, so what it really means when you hear someone talking about trout (most of the time it's Arden, but not always), is that somebody is saying or doing something that is getting the trout-holder annoyed or angry. It could be a result of rudeness, spam, people who don't read the prior posts, people who don't follow the basic rules, etc. Whacking a post refers to the act of deleting a message on the board.
How can I help the library? You can help the library by giving some books that you don't need or don't want, or making a small donation when you bid on your weekly books. This is by no means necessary, and I encourage you to make most donations to gift_quiggle rather than the library.
How can I help out the Adoption Agency? The biggest thing the adoption agency is looking for are cheap petpets (such as abominable snowballs) to attach to foster pets in order to undergo the petpet lab ray! You're also welcome to give the agency a pet you wish to put up for adoption, if the pet is not a rare species or painted, the pet must have high battle stats, as it is hard enough to find these pets good homes.
It's my birthday/guild anniversary, but it hasn't been reckognized!: Gift_quiggle puts up all anniversary and birthday gifts up at the beginning of the month. If your birthday or anniversary is in the middle or end of the month, you must still check at the beginning of the month. Gift_quiggle does announce on the guild boards who's birthdays and anniversaries she has put up gifts, however once a trade times out after 14 days she will not renew them, so be sure to check and see if there's something for you at the beginning of the month!
My pet is sick, can someone help me? Yes! quiggle_hospital was designed simply for that purpose! We have almost all medicines and cures available. If you feel it's not fast enough, don't forget you can visit the healing springs ever 30 minutes in Faerieland. There are only a very few medicines which we cannot provide due to their excessive prices (over 100k), however we have more than enough of just about all other medicines, so feel free to contact her! Don't feel guilty about asking for medicine, we have the hospital for a reason!
